As a Commercial Graduate you will be working within a team that is responsible for the delivery of Revenue Forecasts for franchise bids.
As a business, we only bid for contracts that we believe we can run well and where we can bring our success and experience from elsewhere to make a real difference. Part of doing this is by visiting various Arriva franchises and understanding which systems work by looking at commercial specification of timetables, capacity and crowding, customer satisfaction, customer service arrangements, marketing and fares and presenting this information to inform the commercial directors.
This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to get a real understanding of how a rail service works and the daily challenges faced. You will report into the Commercial Director and get involved in forecasting revenues that form part of future bids for rail franchises. You will have the opportunity to work with a lot of specialists; often sitting in meetings with very experienced people. If you are interested in financial modelling, understanding demographics, predicting demand, ticketing and potential revenue this is a great role to get involved with.
Our priority is to work together across the Bid Team and Arriva to submit high quality bids, which will both secure new franchises as well as build the foundation to maintain our existing franchises.
As an Arriva Graduate, you will complete an 18-month programme which is designed to attract and develop talented young people. During the programme, you will have the chance to do placements in different business areas and work alongside experienced leaders, giving you a unique insight into our business and the skills you need to excel within it. It is possible that one of these placements is an international one, to one of the 14 European countries that Arriva operates in. You will attend a set of graduate events and training modules where you will gain knowledge about Arriva’s operations, strategy and business model and where you will meet Arriva’s senior managers and Graduates from other countries. Apart from your main assignments, you will be working on an international project together with other Arriva Graduates. You will be carefully supported by your mentor and will become part of an international Graduate network.
Even after the Graduate Programme we will continue to support your development. Show us good performance and we will show you the great growth opportunities that Arriva can offer you.
