Aura design, install and maintain a wide variety of technologies focusing on renewable energy and home automation. The Company’s aim is to provide quality products and services, to bring an aura to a client's home or place of work, while supporting sustainability. 

This position will allow you to work on interesting and industry leading self-build projects, occasionally showcased on television.

We advise and guide clients through available and suitable products for their home or business. Each project is designed and tailored to the client's needs and desires, allowing for creativity to be fully explored.

About the role

You will creatively explore and develop high quality detailed mechanical and electrical designs, in order to create tender packages for third parties to install or provide detailed design and support for our installation teams. The designs will need to be accurate and detailed 2D technical drawings and 3D models of mechanical and electrical services, within domestic and commercial properties. 

You will have the opportunity to work with a range of individuals and companies, from the client, architects, design engineers and project managers. By working with clients and partners your role will be to fully understand the requirements of the initial designs and turn them into accurate and detailed technical drawings and models for all project partners to accurately follow and to develop for website case studies. 

This position will allow you to work on interesting and industry leading self-build projects, occasionally showcased on television. Work is project based and can involve working to tight deadlines and providing last minute updates or changes to plans. The ability to prioritise and multi-task is required as Aura have several projects running at once. 

A secondary role will be to support Aura to ensure the company can always deliver projects to a high standard. 

Who we’re looking for

We're looking for someone who has a friendly and approachable manner with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, both verbally and in writing. Ideally you will have the ability to take accurate measurements with a strong attention to detail, and can work independently on tasks and under your own initiative.

You'll have a responsible and professional attitude, with a pro-active approach to work, and you should be self-motivated and committed to completing tasks. You'll work calmly under pressure in response to unexpected events and interruptions, being able to think logically and stay organised, allowing yourself to prioritise and multi-task workloads.

While maintaining a professional appearance and a confident manner, you'll be a strong member of the team who is supportive of colleagues and others. 

Other requirements include:

  • Relevant degree level qualification 
  • Good understanding of maths 
  • IT skills and experience using Computer Aided Design software 
  • Willing to undertake occasional work outside of normal working hours 
  • Full, current driving licence, and use of a vehicle 
  • Willing to undertake continuing personal development
