Our company specialises in the design, manufacture, supply, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure with all associated civil, mechanical, electrical, process and environmental activities within Ireland and the UK.
About the Role
Ward and Burke are looking to recruit a Graduate or Early-Career Structural Engineer to join our team at our main yard & office site in Ellesmere Port. The successful candidate will carry out structural design calculations and prepare and manage the construction & delivery of structural components for the water/wastewater industry.
This position requires an individual that is comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and happy to learn on the job. It is essential the individual possesses an excellent problem-solving skill along with organisational and communication skills. You will have ambitions to further your engineering and management skills to develop into a lead structural engineer and be responsible for managing all structural project elements.

Responsibilities
Producing and reviewing structural engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and reports for temporary works and permanent works.
Setting out and surveying.
Organising plant, materials and personnel involved in the design & manufacture of precast concrete components.
Supervising and delivering projects to programme, monitor and report progress, and ensure safe working practises are followed.
Communicating and collaborating with site team to ensure all are aware of arrangements and plans fit with programmed works.
Referring to technical guidance such as United Utilities engineering specifications/design guidance documents, CESWI and other relevant design standards to ensure design and installation compliance.
Management of subcontractors and suppliers both on site and administratively.
Involvement within project from tender stage and design acceptance through to handover.
Essential:
Well organised, have attention to detail, work on their own initiative and be proactive
Desire to learn and to develop the ability to take the lead on a project
Full UK/European driving licence. Ability to travel to various jobs in the North West region (For the right candidate we can offer transport or pay car allowance.)
Keen to express own ideas and ask questions
Structural or Civil Engineering Degree (Minimum 2:1)

Starting Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience)
