This division of Alloyed is responsible for providing customers with materials, processes and software that push the boundaries of how metal is used. Everything we do is to solve the problems our customers bring us, even if it has never been done before!

How have our graduate engineers had business-level impact?

  • Built a software platform to stream production data directly to the customer.
  • Optimised laser processing parameters for building aluminium parts, now used in serial production.
  • Secondment to Alloyed Seattle to support a major customer in process qualification.
  • Developed machine calibration methods to ensure repeatable production of parts.

Our capabilities are wide ranging:

  • Experimental processing and testing using our world-class suite of equipment in our Oxfordshire labs, from small-scale metal powder fabrication, to custom chemical milling process, to high temperature mechanical testing via ETMT.
  • Materials design to provide an alloy tailored to the specific challenges of an industrial application, using our digital ABD® platform in conjunction with our alloy design labs.
  • Process optimisation for laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) and heat treatment.
  • Qualification support and consultancy for LPBF processing.
  • Software and digital platform creation for metal processing, including additive manufacture, and beyond.
  • Flexibility is essential because every project is different. We handle this by ensuring our team includes deeply knowledgeable and adaptable metallurgists, technicians, process engineers, data scientists, and additive manufacturing feedback for continuous performance improvement.
