FEA Engineer

As part of our experienced analysis team, you will tackle a varied range of challenging engineering problems across Automotive, Medical, Motorsport and allied sectors. This is an opportunity to build broad technical experience, work closely with customers and see your analysis directly influence real-world engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver finite element analysis projects in accordance with agreed scope, timescale and quality requirements.
  • Build, check and run structural simulation models for stress, impact, crash, durability or NVH applications.
  • Interpret results, identify engineering risks and provide clear, practical recommendations.
  • Produce clear technical reports and present findings to customers and internal project teams.
  • Work with customers to understand requirements, loading conditions, material data and acceptance criteria.
  • Contribute to technical reviews and the continuous improvement of analysis methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across analysis, design and testing disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of practical experience applying finite element methods.
  • Experience in impact analysis, stress analysis or both.
  • Experience using one or more of the following: LS-DYNA, Nastran, OptiStruct, Abaqus, ANSA or LS-PrePost.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to manage your own workload while contributing effectively within a project team.
  • Automotive experience in crash, impact, durability or NVH would be advantageous.
  • Experience of composite structures would also be beneficial.

Optional Skills

  • Knowledge of pressure vessel design codes or experience supporting pressure vessel assessment.
  • Academic or practical experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
