Founded in the mid–late 1800s and incorporated over 125 years ago in 1896 as W.M. Cory & Son, Cory has evolved from a coal distribution company on the River Thames into one of the UK’s leading recycling and waste management companies.
We ensure that London and the South East has a safe, clean and sustainable way of managing its recyclable and non-recyclable waste, using our unique river-based infrastructure.
Cory receives around 900,000 tonnes of non-recyclable black bag waste each year. Around 89% of this waste comes to our riverside waste transfer stations. We use river-based infrastructure to help London manage its recyclable and non-recyclable waste, illustrated through our interactive diagram.
We have ambitious plans to grow our Business, investing in key infrastructure to address waste capacity issues and supporting the UK’s journey to net zero carbon by 2050.
