Before starting her career, Tana studied at Sheffield Hallam University, obtaining an LLB (Hons) Law Degree. She is currently studying the Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, for which she is predicted to achieve a high pass result. Tana is the Head of the company Health and safety Committee, first aid trained, and a mental health first aider.
Tana has significant experience working in various types of businesses and brings a range of knowledge from each, including expertise in financial systems and business operations. During her time at Blake Clough, she continues to be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the business. She has implemented policies and procedures and ensures they are followed. Organisational platforms have been implemented to support the company’s rapid growth, which Tana has learned how to use and then trained the team on. The most notable is the company’s custom-built project management system, which Tana has managed the design and development of.
Tana has also assisted the company in achieving its ISO accreditations, such as ISO9001, and is responsible for maintaining these high standards through regular internal audits. She also assists in financial and accounting processes.
Tana has played a key role in the team's growth and has dedicated time and attention to all stages of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention.
Most recently she recruited Blake Cloughs Business Support Apprentice, who she line manages and has trained to be a valued member of the team.
Tana is passionate about continuing to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and ensuring that Blake Clough is a great place to work.
In addition to Operations and HR responsibilities, Tana manages the companies Events & Marketing, ensuring everything runs smoothly. She designs the company stands, orders all the materials, and manages the team when the company exhibits at conferences such as Solar & Storage. She regularly attends events and awards to represent the company and also organises bi-annual team events, one of which is abroad.
Working closely with a video production company and some experts in eCommerce, Tana has recently been developing content to push the company’s marketing strategy. Tana has also formed links with local authorities and made successful applications for grant funding to help the company continue to grow and provide jobs in the West Yorkshire Area. She is also in touch with local charities, one close to her heart being ‘The Kirkwood’ for which she organised a charity skydive with other members of the team, raising over £2000.
