Calum has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. At Blake Clough Consulting, Calum actively engages in curtailment analysis, site feasibility studies, and due diligence projects. He has gained extensive experience reviewing complex technical documentation and presenting technically detailed information clearly and concisely. His work on curtailment analysis, particularly in addressing challenges within intricate areas of the distribution network, has further honed his analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Calum is also highly skilled in project management, ensuring that all tasks are completed within the desired timeframe and that deadlines are consistently met. His ability to prioritise effectively, manage competing demands, and maintain attention to detail enables him to deliver high-quality results that meet client expectations
Calum holds a 1st Class BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering with Renewables from the University of Dundee. He has gained experience during his studies with wind, solar and hydroelectric power systems, all with an understanding of the UK’s power transmission network. Knowledge of data analysis has also been developed, working on projects relating to the UK grid and analysing its trends. For Calum’s final year project, he researched the UK’s solar thermal market, comparing it to solar PV and key developments needed to allow for lower energy costs for UK consumers.
Outside of work, Calum enjoys rock climbing and hiking.
