The Role

Binnies is one of the UK's leading engineering and environmental consultancies. We are seeking motivated Graduate Project Managers to join our growing Flood, Coast & Environment (FCE) team in Redhill, Bradford on Avon and Birmingham.

Our team has a strong pipeline of projects covering project appraisals, design, construction supervision, and client secondment opportunities. We work with key clients, including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and local authorities, delivering projects that have a positive and lasting impact on communities and the environment.

Our work focuses on reducing flood risk to protect people, homes, and businesses, as well as managing the risks associated with coastal erosion.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Project Manager to build a career in Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) and the wider environmental sector. You will work alongside experienced Project Managers, developing your knowledge and practical skills while contributing to meaningful projects.

We are committed to supporting your professional development through tailored training, mentoring, and opportunities to work towards a recognised project management qualification, such as Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status with the Association for Project Management (APM).

As a Graduate Project Manager, you will:

  • Develop an understanding of client requirements and project objectives.
  • Support the planning, monitoring, and control of projects, including scope, time, cost, resources, risk, and procurement.
  • Assist with contract administration, primarily under the NEC Professional Services Contract.
  • Contribute to financial reporting for both clients and the business.
  • Manage tasks effectively to meet agreed deadlines and project milestones.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing project proposals, budgets, and cost estimates.
  • Support the assessment of commercial risks during the project bidding and sales process.

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about project management and passionate about delivering projects that benefit communities and the environment. You will ideally demonstrate the following:

  • A degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline, or a degree in another discipline supported by strong STEM A-level qualifications.
  • A genuine interest in water, environmental, flood risk, and coastal erosion management projects.
  • A commitment to working towards a recognised professional qualification in project management.
  • A proactive approach to learning, developing technical skills, and progressing your career.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
