PJA is the UK's leading independent Transport, Engineering and Placemaking specialist. Our company started in a spare bedroom in 2003. Fast forward to today and PJA now has over 140 people working across eight offices in the UK and Australia.
We design places for people. Every day, our people are providing expert advice to planners, developers and industry leaders across the UK and beyond.
The roads you drive down, the streets you live on, the river park where you eat lunch…we design it all. Extension to the A38 cycleway? That’s us. Naturalising the River Rea in Longbridge? Also us. Cleaning up Ironbridge Power Station? That’s us too.
From creating a new community to reshaping an existing one, from working on nationally strategic routes to local streets, from designing roads and pipes to landscapes and rivers; we channel our creative ideas and innovative thinking to make lasting places for people.
PJA was built on our reputation for understanding the transport implications of development and finding solutions to enable development to proceed. Over the past 17 years we have attracted a multi-disciplinary team of transport planners, highway engineers and urban designers to bring both strength and breadth to our services.
We have transport planning expertise in each of our local offices, but project teams are often drawn from resources across the UK in order to provide the very best skills to suit the project requirements.
We seek to really understand our clients' projects by identifying the problems and constraints at the outset and by knowing the project destination from the beginning. Our Engineering Team has the capability to manage small and major engineering projects both in the UK and overseas.
Our approach is to collaborate with clients and fellow professionals, focus on project delivery, strive for innovative solutions and technical excellence; while adding value along the way.
PJA brings together transport, engineering and placemaking to create great places. Our placemakers are instrumental in achieving this aim, through an inter-disciplinary team of urban designers, movement planners, street engineers, landscape architects and graphic designers. We provide an integrated design approach to placemaking from concept design through to detailed design and delivery.
We operate from a network of offices in the UK and Australia.
