Amazon
Zestec has designed, funded and installed rooftop solar PV systems across a range of Amazon’s UK fulfilment and distribution centres. Transitioning to renewable energy is one of the highest-impact ways to immediately lower emissions for Amazon.
Amazon is the world’s largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy and is on a path to powering operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025 – five years ahead of their original target of 2030. Zestec is proud to be at the forefront of this and supporting them on their transition.
Princess Yachts Limited
Princess Yachts Limited is a British luxury motor yacht manufacturer based in the city of Plymouth. As a marine brand, sustainability is at the core of their values. Because of this, they’re offering more responsible ways of yachting; from hybrid technology to energy saving technologies and measures.
They instructed Zestec to deploy just under 2.5 MW of rooftop solar across their Newport and Coy Pool sites allowing them to take a step further in transitioning to a green future.
Kärcher
Every year, Kärcher distributes 1 million cleaning machines, from their famous yellow pressure washers to window vacs to municipal street sweepers. They had a clear vision of working to increase their environmental performance.
Zestec supported Kärcher in beginning their energy transition to lower their carbon impact and reduce their energy bills, through generating their own onsite renewable electricity. After a detailed survey and due diligence, Zestec’s partner, Solar Perfect, designed and installed a 300 kWp solar PV system.
Jones Food Company - Lydney
Jones Food Company designs, builds, and operates world-scale vertical farms, leading the next generation of UK agriculture by growing high quality fresh produce locally, sustainably, and affordably. Having carried out JFCo’s first solar project at their site in Scunthorpe, they approached Zestec to develop their second renewable project at their site in Lydney.
The growing space at this site is 3.6 acres and is the world’s largest vertical farm. With around 46% of all food consumed in Britain being imported, Jones Food’s method hopes to significantly reduce the country’s carbon footprint by growing it on-site in Lydney.
Davall Gears
Davall Gears is a leading UK precision gear designer and manufacturer. Zestec began working with Davall Gears in 2022 when they decided to take a step up in transitioning to green energy. Under our PPA model, Zestec fitted a 288kWp rooftop system, to enable Davall Gears to generate 275,000 kWh annually of electricity.
The project experienced some difficulties along the way. Due to the existing roof being insufficient to support the solar infrastructure, their install partner had to carry out a full roof replacement to ensure stability before deployment of the system. They quickly redesigned the solar PV system to comply with the offer without impeding the system’s size, allowing Davall Gears to generate enough electricity to offset their reliance on the grid.
Brinsbury College
Brinsbury College is set in 570 acres of stunning countryside. Zestec was approached in 2019 to support the college with the installation of a ground mount solar PV farm adopting the fully funded Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model.
As an environmentally conscious educational institution, the primary objectives of generating on-site electricity were to significantly reduce the college’s carbon footprint, generate clean and sustainable electricity to offset their energy consumption at a fixed lower cost, and educate students and the wider community about the advantages of renewable energy.
