I started my career as an EMEA graduate for BOC. I had recently completed my master’s degree in mechanical engineering and was looking to explore opportunities within a business-focussed function which provided international experience.
The graduate programme gave me the opportunity to carry out projects across the UK, the Netherlands, and Germany which provided a great insight to the company and to the industrial gases industry. After my graduate programme, I worked for just over a year as a Research Account Manager – looking after our university and research institute customers.
From here, I progressed into the role of Product Manager where I now look after BOC’s welding and inert gases. I have also recently launched our Early Professionals Employee Resource Group to encourage networking and development for those early in their career in BOC.
Learning so much about all different industries. Gas is everywhere - there’s every opportunity to deal with any sectors from defence, clean energy, research, or even pubs!
Follow your interests but keep an open mind. Never be afraid to ask questions!
