Who’s behind the Nuclear Graduates programme?  

Nuclear Graduates has been designed and created by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). This is a public body set up by the Government to ensure the safe, accelerated and affordable clean up of the UK’s civil nuclear legacy. Nuclear Graduates is wholly funded by organisations from across the UK nuclear industry. You will be paired with one of these organisations prior to starting the programme.

After finding a position suitable to you on our ‘Graduate Jobs’ page follow the link to complete an on-line application form. We do not accept CV’s at Nuclear Graduates.

You will receive an email within 48 hours acknowledging receipt of your application form. We receive a high volume of applications and as a small team it may take some time to progress your application, please bear with us, you will receive a response from us whether successful or unsuccessful.

The scheme lasts for two years and is completed after graduation. You will undertake several secondments based in the UK with the potential for an international secondment dependent on your sponsor and development plan.

What kind of graduates are you looking for?

Nuclear Graduates are looking for graduates to join us in three areas; engineering, science and commercial. Each year our sponsors confirm their requirements, Nuclear Graduates then recruit graduates from these disciplines. This means that the disciplines we recruit changes each year.

We are looking for individuals, who enjoy a challenge, excel in problem solving but most of all can make a positive impact within our sponsoring organisations and wider industry.

Will I have a guaranteed job at the end of the scheme?Throughout the two years of the programme, you will work with your sponsor and Nuclear Graduates to follow a bespoke training plan that will help you develop on a personal and professional level. You will work towards chartership with a relevant professional institute and enhance the skills that your sponsor is looking for so you can secure a job offer from them before completion of the programme.

NDA and RWML sponsored graduates will have a similar level of support but the focus will be in helping you to find out what sector of the nuclear industry you are looking to work in and will support you in securing a job in that sector.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer placements or internships.

Do you accept applications from International Students?

Nuclear Graduates accept applications from any graduate eligible to work in the UK however we are unable to sponsor visas. All successful candidates will be subjected to comprehensive security checks prior to being able to start the programme.

If I am successful and receive an offer of a place on the Nuclear Graduates programme, can I defer my start date to the next year?

As our sponsors requirements change each year we are unable to allow successful candidates to start the following year. All graduates will start the programme on the same date.
