Where will you be working?
We are looking for a Group Assurance Trainee to join our growing team based in Stevenage.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across our Group Assurance function, with rotations through Group Internal Audit, Group Risk, and IT General Controls. You'll develop a broad range of skills, build valuable business knowledge, and gain real insight into how our organisation operates.

What will you be doing?
As part of this structured three-year programme, you'll work towards professional qualifications with full support from our experienced team, helping you build a successful and rewarding career in assurance and risk.
As the Group Assurance Trainee, you’ll get the opportunity to:
Enterprise Risk Management: A 12-month rotation in Enterprise Risk Management covering:
Undertaking a proactive role in supporting risk owners in the completion of risk reviews
Providing timely management information and ongoing monitoring of risk by assisting with management reporting and dashboards
Working with risk owners to enhance information on climate risks
Risk framework documentation to enhance governance
Helping deliver risk training to enhance Risk Owner engagement and the quality of outputs
IT General Controls: A 12-month rotation in IT General Controls covering:
Supporting the development and maintenance of IT Risk & Control Matrices (RACMs) across key systems and IT processes.
Assisting with the creation and maintenance of IT control procedures, standards and supporting documentation to ensure controls are consistently executed and evidenced.
Maintaining IT control schedules and supporting control owners with periodic control activities and evidence collection.
Producing dashboards, management information and reporting on control performance, testing activities and remediation progress.
Supporting the operation and continuous improvement of IT controls governance and reporting processes.
Developing training materials, guidance documents and awareness communications to promote effective control ownership across the Group.
Performing data analysis to identify trends, exceptions and opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the IT control environment.
Supporting IT control reviews and documenting testing results, observations and remediation actions.
Supporting projects that help develop a scalable, auditable and well-governed IT control environment across the Group.
Internal Audit: A 12-month rotation in Internal Audit covering:
Working as part of a team to deliver a broad range of financial and operational audits, from planning through to completion
Helping to prepare concise, high quality written reports and work papers
Following audit actions through to completion
Contributing to projects to improve processes and systems
What you’ll bring?
We are looking for a recent graduate with a 2:1 degree (or above) in any discipline, or an ambitious early-career professional looking to take the next step in their development.
