Life at Roke

This is a stimulating environment, working on some of the most complex and influential projects in the UK. Roke punches well above its weight in terms of projects, yet you still get to enjoy the feel of a relatively small company that values its employees.

Work hard, play hard

We invest in your future and drive innovation because it better serves our customers and adds genuine value to our broader society. Changing the world isn’t easy and in return for your endeavours, you will receive great benefits and share in our success.

Day to Day

From our two sites, you can enjoy direct access to the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire and/or a bright, open layout and the opportunity to explore our 22-acre estate in Romsey. The on-site social club with its own bar, tennis courts, gym, Pilates classes and countryside walks make for an environment that encourages downtime, as much as it does hard work.

We invest in your future and drive innovation.

Opportunities to celebrate

Your work is important and we recognise outstanding achievement too. There are plenty of opportunities to share in collective success with company parties throughout the year and individual awards for excellent performance. You can also give back to the community through our charity activities, volunteering and schools partnership programmes.

Our promise

We offer an environment where you can self-manage, continue to hone your craft and encourage your experience to be valued. We promise to invest in your future and make sure there are opportunities available for you to get involved in world-changing projects, undertake new qualifications and shape your own career.

Diversity

We are all unique. Each one of us is different from anyone and everyone else. We want to be recognised and known for supporting and valuing our people by being actively inclusive in all that we do and what we stand for.

We believe this will enable us to have high performing people and teams by retaining and attracting talented people, creating a stimulating, collaborative and rewarding working environment, without compromising quality, providing the catalyst for new ideas, innovation and new ways of thinking, to enable us to respond to the needs of our clients.

Benefits

  • £27,000 basic salary
  • £3,000 welcome bonus to help you settle into the local area and your new role
  • A contributory pension and a number of additional flexible benefits
  • A competitive performance related bonus scheme, which we accompany with a clearly defined and fair review process.
  • 25 days' annual leave, which can be supplemented by Roke’s flexi-leave scheme to the tune of an additional 8 days.
  • Onsite tennis courts, gym (including showers & changing facilities) and fishing rights on the River Test.
  • Numerous company events throughout the year, including a summer music festival, bonfire night fireworks and Christmas party.
  • Employee led social clubs covering numerous sports, cyber/data/robotics activities, gaming, board games and more.

Corporate social responsibility

Being recognised as a good "corporate citizen" is a key focus for Roke.

Our goal is simple. To help make our community a better place. This means leveraging our know-how, financial resources and the commitment and enthusiasm of our employees to improve life in the communities in which we live and work.

Our activities are diverse. They extend from supporting a host of charity and fundraising initiatives, to working closely with local schools and colleges in a range of educational projects to inspire more young people to take an active interest in science and engineering. We believe that the latter is fundamental in ensuring that the UK continues to compete on the world stage in developing the cutting edge technology of the future.
