The team:

At Bank of America, our Global Capital Markets (GCM) business comprises our Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Leveraged Finance (LevFin), and Sustainable Solutions Group (SSG) businesses. In all of these businesses we assist our clients in accessing and navigating the financial markets and provide tailored capital markets solutions to address a broad range of objectives.

Across the four groups, our clients include investment grade and sub-investment grade corporates, financial institutions, private equity firms and sovereign, supranational and sovereign (SSA) issuers.

This London-based internship will be within DCM, which products include bonds, loans, capital products, liability management and FX and rates solutions.

Programme Overview

Our Off-Cycle Analyst programme is designed to offer you a broad and exciting experience of what it is like to work as a full time Capital Markets analyst. For applications to this London programme, if successful you will be assigned to the DCM team. Analysts in DCM business, within our GCM team, are involved in originating and executing a wide variety of debt solutions for our clients.

The DCM team advise a broad client base which includes corporates, financial institutions, and sovereign, supranational and sovereign (SSA) issuers in both developed and emerging markets across EMEA. Specifically, we focus on advisory, structuring and execution solutions for our clients seeking to raise new debt financing using a broad range of products to achieve their objectives.

You will work with our GCM partners, in addition to our Corporate and Investment bankers, to support clients by advising on optimal methods to access financing, whether for acquisitions, general financing or strengthening of balance sheets.

Training and Development

Your training and development is our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the programme in addition to on the job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.

Responsibilities:

• Assist DCM professionals with deal origination and execution across a diverse range of product areas
• Work as a product specialist directly with our clients at top management level to create and deliver financing solutions through DCM (bonds, loans, FX and rates) products
• Develop a strong understanding of market fundamentals and be able to make market-informed contributions on a broad array of financing strategies that address clients’ specific needs
• Design highly tailored presentations for clients to outline solutions to their financing needs (including for bank clients to meet their regulatory capital requirements and optimise their capital stacks)
• Work on live transactions and interact with clients and professionals from across the bank as you build your network and experience
• Work closely with Investment Banking and Corporate Banking teams on client coverage and origination, and with the broader GCM team advising on holistic financing solutions
• Work with sales teams and traders in Global Markets to coordinate and manage live deal executions, and liaise with Global Research to stay informed on the latest market developments

Eligibility

• Candidates are required to have already received or be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. For candidates who have already graduated, the graduation date must be after January 2026.
• For candidates who are still pursuing a degree, the completion time frame must be before July 2027. Completion means that you have completed all final exams, coursework, and have no outstanding requirements for graduation. Please note that we reserve the right to request evidence of this completion date before extending an offer.
• On track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification or equivalent

Candidates must be available to join the programme from Monday 11th January 2027 for a period of four months with an option to extend it by 2 months.

If candidates were to receive a full-time offer, then they must be available to join the graduate programme from July 2027. Please note that we are unable to offer any deferred start dates.

What we are looking for:

• Fluency in English is essential, proficiency in any European language would be highly desirable.
• Applications are accepted from a diverse range of degree disciplines such as the arts and humanities, as well as numerically focused subjects such as economics, mathematics, science and engineering
• Competent user of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
• You will need to demonstrate drive, innovation and a genuine interest in the financial markets
• Teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills, plus creativity are key qualities, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and interact with a variety of people
• Displays analytical and problem-solving skills
