Where you'll be working

SP Energy Networks keeps the electricity flowing to homes and businesses throughout Central and Southern Scotland, North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire, and North Shropshire. The energy landscape is changing rapidly as the way our customers and communities generate, consume, and interact with energy evolves. Our role is to decarbonise our network through technology and innovation and to facilitate the UK's journey to Net Zero through electrification.

Join our Risk Management team within SPT Strategic Projects and play a key role in making sure our Transmission projects are delivered safely on time, and within budget. You’ll work on real infrastructure projects and learn how risk is identified, assessed, and managed across the electricity network. 

What you'll be doing

As a Risk Management Graduate, you'll develop practical expertise in risk management across major infrastructure programmes: 

• Support project risk management and mitigation for major infrastructure upgrades
• Help ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations
• Analyse data to inform investment decisions and asset planning
• Create and maintain risk registers, dashboards, and reports
• Join site visits and observe how risk controls are applied in real-world settings 

What you'll bring

We're looking for methodical thinkers who are excited about the energy sector and want to develop a career in risk management: 

• Honours Degree at a minimum of 2:2 (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business, Risk Management, Legal or similar
• Interest in risk management and the energy sector
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• A driving license (or working towards it)
