I joined RINA as a graduate in the Earthing & Lightning Protection team. My final year project in university was focused around high voltage earthing which I thoroughly enjoyed so jumped at the opportunity to join this department.
In my time at RINA I have progressed to consultant level and am now the main point of contact for earthing enquiries for one of the main UK DNOs. I look after projects from initial quotation to delivery of earthing design drawings and calculation reports, this covers a wide range of installations including wind farms, substations and battery storage facilities.
I take responsibility for planning and carry out a lot of the site work involved such as substation earthing assessments, which has allowed me to travel all across the UK.
Collaborating with clients to find solutions to often challenging issues has allowed me to develop both my technical knowledge as well as my project management skills. I work within a fantastic team and there is an excellent work life balance at RINA – I genuinely love my job!
