I joined RINA UK Space & Defence in September 2021 and since have participated in numerous projects such as providing legislative compliance expertise to a UK Critical Build Programme, producing laser safety papers for defence laser equipment.
I have conducted environmental audits and produced safety and environmental artefacts for various equipment. From this, I have been able to develop new skills and experience as well as build upon my previous experience.
As an Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) Practitioner, I have had plenty of opportunities to utilise and develop my environmental skills and to keep up with her Continued Professional Development (CPD). I am currently a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and believe that the portfolio at work at RINA will set me in good stead to become a Chartered Engineer.
The RINA S&E team, and the work undertaken at RINA, has attracted a wide variety of talent and therefore has allowed me to work with experienced senior colleagues who are more than happy to assist, challenge and provide opportunities for my development.
Despite the challenges of remote working (as well as the myriad of positives), I have found that I have been able to integrate well at the company and within the team. I have felt supported by my direct management and, now out of the pandemic, I have appreciated the efforts to meet in-person to promote the team spirit and to socialise with other teams within RINA.
