RotaBoltTM is a market leader in the field of intelligent bolting solutions and this role will support our drive for innovation and lead to opportunities for further career progression.
About the Role
From the first day you will be given free rein to manage your projects, make an impact and to develop further cutting edge digital bolting solutions to disrupt the bolting market. The role is based at our manufacturing site in Bingley, West Yorkshire, you will be responsible for digitising and developing our market leading load indicating fastener system (ConnectTM) for the offshore/floating wind markets, cranes, power generation and other specialised bolting applications. You will be joining a team of multidisciplinary engineers with expertise in a range of areas related to sealing and bolting technologies who are keen to share their knowledge and mentor new starters. Gaining exposure to the entire product lifecycle, you will play key role in developing exiting and pioneering bolting products as well as supporting the wider business opportunities. You will gain further exposure to a number of developing market sectors by supporting and expanding our customer applications to this new digitised technology.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Maintain and make improvements to the current hardware utilised on the current wireless ConnectTM system and drive the implementation of calibration and load setting of the system within the manufacturing workplace.
Investigate product failures determining the root cause and deciding corrective and preventative actions; working with quality and manufacturing teams to support continuous improvement with supporting literature.
Working to support multiple manufacturing sites and global service centres supporting the RotaBoltTM product range. (Key focus towards collaboration with colleagues in Europe, UK, USA and south East Asia).
Work with current and future development of electrical condition monitoring systems in sealing products and services.
To provide support to product managers for VOC activity: & creation of training/ marketing & communications; literature for training and development of technical & sales teams.
Working within a technical team focused on product groups; Gaskets, Compression Packing and RotaboltTM.
Supporting the project management lead; Liaising and updating relevant stakeholders on projects that you are working on.
Producing technical reports on new product developments, product failures and project progress.
Working closely with product engineers within the team; product/ process familiarisation with Gaskets & Rotabolt.
Preparing engineering drawings to a high standard.
Preparing and maintaining project files and quality systems in line with BS ISO 9001 requirements.
Support manufacturing and quality teams for customer contract review and implementing processes controls.
What you’ll need
Practical engineering skills with the ability to read and create engineering drawings and interpret and analyse data. Previous experience in a design role within an engineering environment would be preferred.
A degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering would be preferred.
General CAD design experience.
A resilient approach and go the extra mile to improve standards and performance.
Excellent communication skills along with the ability to build great relationships.
A background in electrical engineering would be beneficial/ a general interest in this topic area
The ability to problem solve and see tasks through to completion with a right first time delivery.
The willingness and enthusiasm to embrace change, look at new ways of working and support continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
