Insight Programme - Advance into Technology, Data and Innovation - 2027

5th - 8th April 2027.

About us

Deutsche Bank is the leading German bank with strong European roots and a global network. We’re driving growth through our strong client franchise. Against a backdrop of increasing globalisation in the world economy, Deutsche Bank is very well-positioned, with significant regional diversification and substantial revenue streams from all the major regions of the world.

We serve our clients’ real economic needs in commercial banking, investment banking, private banking and asset management. We are investing heavily in digital technologies, prioritising long term success over short-term gains, and serving society with ambition and integrity.

About the programme:

Designed to excite and inspire first year students from less advantaged socio-economic backgrounds, this four-day spring insight programme will open a world of possibilities for a career in banking. Our Advance into Technology, Data and Innovation Programme is an amazing opportunity for you to experience the inclusive and collaborative culture that we’re proud to have cultivated at Deutsche Bank.

Once you have applied, you will be invited to participate in sessions to build your confidence, develop your employability skills and support your preparation to secure a place on the programme.

The Advance into Technology, Data and Innovation Programme will consist of:

  • A four-day interactive (in-person) insight programme introducing you to Deutsche Bank and the Financial Services sector focusing on our Technology, Data & Innovation Teams.
  • Interactive workshops introducing our business, clients, and our role in society.
  • The opportunity to meet inspirational leaders and role models from analysts and associates right through to senior management.
  • Employability skills workshops and mock interviews with the Early Careers team.
  • You'll be exposed to numerous areas of the bank and have an opportunity to attend in-person workshops, interactive or networking sessions to see what goes on behind the scenes.

Successful students may have the opportunity to be considered for Deutsche Bank’s Internship Programme in Summer 2028. Your Deutsche Bank mentors and the Early Careers team will be on hand to support you throughout this process.

Candidates will receive ongoing mentoring support for 12 months following the programme.

About the division:

Technology underpins Deutsche Bank’s entire business and is changing and shaping the way we engage, interact, and transact with our stakeholders, internally and externally. Our Technology, Data and Innovation (TDI) strategy is strengthening our engineering expertise, introducing an agile delivery model, and is modernising the bank's IT infrastructure with long-term investments and taking advantage of cloud computing.

We are building a team of visionary technology talent that will ensure that we thrive in this period of unprecedented change for the industry. That means hiring the right people and giving them the training, freedom, and opportunity they need to do pioneering work.

What we look for?

To apply for our Advance into Technology, Data and Innovation Programme, you must be in the first year of your undergraduate studies, or your second year of a four-year course. In addition:

  • Your household income is below £42,620.
  • You attended a UK state school.
  • Possess no more than 12 months full-time, relevant work experience (this excludes previous internships).

We are looking for highly intelligent students who are ambitious, adaptable and have a genuine interest in a career in investment banking. We’re not expecting you to have all the knowledge, but demonstrating your motivation for this opportunity and willingness to learn is key.

We are open to students from all degree disciplines, and during the programme we will help you match your skills to opportunities at the bank. We offer comprehensive training opportunities that will give you the technical knowledge you’ll need to build a career with us. Above all, we’re looking for entrepreneurial people who thrive best in a diverse culture where innovation and agile thinking abound.

Whilst we are unable to sponsor visas for this particular programme, if you are currently studying in the UK on a Tier 4 Student visa, you must ensure your terms and conditions allow for non-term time working. You may be required to show this to a member of the Early Careers Team.

This programme is designed for students from less socio-economically advantaged backgrounds. Being inclusive is important to us and we want to seek to reduce any barriers to entry faced by disadvantaged students pursuing careers in the financial sector.

Our values define the working environment we strive to create – diverse, supportive, and welcoming of different views. We embrace a culture reflecting a variety of perspectives, insights, and backgrounds to drive innovation. We build talented and diverse teams to drive business results and encourage our people to develop to their full potential. Talk to us about flexible work arrangements and other initiatives we offer.

We promote good working relationships and encourage high standards of conduct and work performance. We welcome applications from talented people from all cultures, countries, races, genders, sexual orientations, disabilities, beliefs, and generations and are committed to providing a working environment free from harassment, discrimination and retaliation.

Please note, as with all programmes, you may only make ONE application per recruitment season in the UK. If you make multiple applications with multiple profiles, you may be removed from the recruitment process.

Please note we hire on a rolling basis, and we may close the role prior to the deadline if we receive a significant number of applications. Please apply early to ensure your application is considered.
