Insight Programme - Rise into Technology, Data and Innovation - 2027

5th - 8th April 2027.

About us

Deutsche Bank is the leading German bank with strong European roots and a global network. We’re driving growth through our strong client franchise. Against a backdrop of increasing globalisation in the world economy, Deutsche Bank is very well-positioned, with significant regional diversification and substantial revenue streams from all the major regions of the world.

We serve our clients’ real economic needs in commercial banking, investment banking, private banking and asset management. We are investing heavily in digital technologies, prioritising long term success over short-term gains, and serving society with ambition and integrity.

About the programme:

Designed to excite and inspire first-year black heritage students, this four-day spring insight programme will open a world of possibilities for a career in banking. Our Rise into Technology, Data and Innovation programme is an amazing opportunity for you to experience the inclusive and collaborative culture that we’re proud to have cultivated at Deutsche Bank.

This programme is aimed at students of black heritage, as this is currently a demographic that is underrepresented within the banking and finance industry. Your week starts with an introduction to working in banking. Led by expert trainers, you will learn how financial markets work and get to know more about the way Deutsche Bank operates. You will meet and work closely with a variety of our people, from analysts and associates right through to senior management, who will help you build a professional network that will serve you throughout your career.

You will be exposed to numerous areas of the bank with focus on Technology, Data and Innovation division and have an opportunity to attend in-person workshops, interactive or networking sessions to see what goes on behind the scenes. There will be multiple opportunities to practice and develop your soft skills such as networking, presenting, and interviewing.

Rise into Technology, Data and Innovation is a programme that not only recognises talent but also rewards it. By becoming a part of our bank, you’re becoming part of a diverse and inclusive network that will continue to support you for the rest of your career.

Successful students will be invited to join Deutsche Bank’s Internship Programme in Summer 2028.

The Rise into Technology, Data and Innovation Programme will consist of:

  • A four-day interactive (in-person) insight programme introducing you to Deutsche Bank and the Financial Services sector focusing on our Technology, Data & Innovation Teams.
  • Interactive workshops introducing our business, clients, and our role in society.
  • The opportunity to meet inspirational leaders and role models from analysts and associates right through to senior management.
  • Employability skills workshops and mock interviews with the Early Careers team.
  • You'll be exposed to numerous areas of the bank and have an opportunity to attend in-person workshops, interactive or networking sessions to see what goes on behind the scenes.

Successful students may have the opportunity to be considered for Deutsche Bank’s Internship Programme in Summer 2028. Your Deutsche Bank mentors and the Early Careers team will be on hand to support you throughout this process.

Candidates will receive ongoing mentoring support for 12 months following the programme.

About the division:

Technology underpins Deutsche Bank’s entire business and is changing and shaping the way we engage, interact, and transact with our stakeholders, internally and externally. Our Technology, Data and Innovation (TDI) strategy is strengthening our engineering expertise, introducing an agile delivery model, and is modernising the bank's IT infrastructure with long-term investments and taking advantage of cloud computing.

We are building a team of visionary technology talent that will ensure that we thrive in this period of unprecedented change for the industry. That means hiring the right people and giving them the training, freedom, and opportunity they need to do pioneering work.

What we look for:

We recruit highly intelligent individuals who are ambitious and adaptable. They are studying for degrees in many different disciplines. Even though good levels of numeracy are important for some roles, you won’t necessarily need a formal mathematical or financial background. We have very comprehensive training programmes that will give you all the technical knowledge you’ll need to build a career with us. Above all, we’re looking for entrepreneurial people who thrive best in a diverse culture where innovation and agile thinking abound.

You should not only be passionate about the world of finance, but also show a keen interest in your chosen field. You already have a record of outstanding academic achievement and you’re eager to go on learning at the same intensive rate. So you’ll thrive on working in a highly collaborative environment with some of the best minds in banking.

To apply for our Rise into Technology, Data and Innovation Programme you must:

  • Be in the first year of your undergraduate studies, or your second year of a four year course.
  • Possess no more than 12 months full-time, relevant work experience (this excludes previous internships).

Whilst we are unable to sponsor visas for this particular programme, if you are currently studying in the UK on a Tier 4 Student visa, you must ensure your terms and conditions allow for non-term time working. You may be required to show this to a member of the Early Careers Team.

Our values define the working environment we strive to create – diverse, supportive, and welcoming of different views. We embrace a culture reflecting a variety of perspectives, insights, and backgrounds to drive innovation. We build talented and diverse teams to drive business results and encourage our people to develop to their full potential. Talk to us about flexible work arrangements and other initiatives we offer.

We promote good working relationships and encourage high standards of conduct and work performance.
