Dean Manning

Graduate Engineer

" Since joining WRc I have really enjoyed the friendly environment and active social club"

1. What attracted you to WRc?

When I first heard about the role at WRc, I was initially attracted by the variety of industries it operates in, and that graduates are given the opportunity to gain experience in the different departments. After reading the job description and doing some background research I found that above all else, WRc value their employees and see them as individuals. This was refreshing after having applied for jobs at some larger companies, who often appear to view their personnel as cogs in a machine. Since joining WRc I have really enjoyed the friendly environment and active social club.

2. How was the on-boarding process, from the time you sent in your application, to interview, offer and then induction

The response to my application came very quickly and I was offered a telephone interview with HR, which covered general competency questions. The telephone interview went well and I was invited for a face to face interview the following week. In the interview I gave a presentation which I had been asked to prepare, and answered verbal and numerical reasoning questions.

I received my offer very promptly - just a week after my interview. Upon joining I found the induction process to be well structured and allowed me to meet key people from each department within the company. This gave me a strong foundation on which to start my role at WRc.
