We are committed to being an equal opportunities employer. Here at the IPO we want to maximise the potential of everyone who chooses to work for us. We are committed to understanding, respecting and representing as broad a range of views and backgrounds as we have in UK society.
Our passion for inclusion, diversity and equality means creating a work environment for all that is welcoming, respectful, engaging and enriched with opportunities for personal and professional development.
We want our people to be confident that they can be their true self in work and feel that their differences in identity and thought are respected. Not just because it is the right thing to do but because it will help IPO to be a more innovative organisation that is a Brilliant Place to Work.
First and foremost, inclusion in the IPO is all about creating a supportive environment where everyone can be themselves, so that they can do their best work.
We know how hard the Inclusion and Diversity team work to make this a reality for absolutely everyone in the IPO, whether or not you feel you have a particular characteristic or are represented by a staff network.
Secondly, inclusion in the IPO is about creating the systems which enable people to thrive. This relies on; data to understand the present situation, and a grasp of cultural features so that we can achieve targeted systemic change. We see this created in things big and small, from a STEM returners programme, to tweaks to the recruitment process.
We want our people to be confident that they can be their true self in work and feel that their differences in identity and thought are respected. Not just because it is the right thing to do but because it will help IPO to be a more innovative organisation that is a Brilliant Place to Work.
Everyone is given the opportunity to become part of our many inclusive network groups. The groups work across the organisation to support, educate and engage people at all levels on equality and to promote a safe, inclusive and diverse working environment.
"I’ve been going along to the Peer2Peer meetings for several months now. Right from the start, I felt welcomed and understood. Everyone is friendly and it really helps to listen to others, offer support and then have them do the same for you. It’s an amazing group and I recommend (and have recommended it) to anyone who might benefit."
