Primary Purpose of this Position:

The purpose of this role is to experience rugged product development on a selection of Military & Aerospace projects. The duration of the role is 12 months and will be based at our Towcester Facility, in Northamptonshire. During the 12 months, you will be working within the Mechanical Engineering Team to support New Product Introductions (NPI’s) which will involve designing Mechanical Solutions and optimising for size, weight and Thermal Performance for rugged embedded systems. You will gain knowledge of design tools and processes including SolidWorks for design and analysis (thermal, vibration & modal analysis).

You will be working with Product Managers, Hardware, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineers throughout the design process utilising your organisational and team working skills to ensure the product functions to specification. This is a great opportunity be part of a Team and to see Products from Concept to Design Completion.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Studying at 2nd year stage on a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree with an interest in Heat transfer/thermodynamics
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of an integrated team
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity of using Solidworks or a similar package would be good to have but not essential.
