Graduate Quantity Surveyor

About the opportunity

Assisting with the commercial delivery of the business, your role will be to work with experienced surveyors and business leaders across a number of projects. Gaining experience over the first 18 months will be key, and exposure to core areas of business and surveying will include: cost planning and commercial management, assisting Linear’s estimating team, sourcing suppliers and materials at best price, whilst also assisting with the preparation of tender bids and final accounts.

What you'll be doing  

Your role will be to work towards the delivery and success of critical projects within the business, ensuring commercial targets and milestones are met.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Supporting the estimating teams
  • Sourcing suppliers
  • Seeking best price for materials
  • Working on and developing tender bids
  • Project management
  • Monitoring and managing suppliers (i.e. materials, costs and lead times)
  • Working towards your ICS qualification

About you  

Academically, we are looking for CCC (or higher) at A-level and a 2:2 degree (or higher) from a related discipline completed within the last 3 years. You will have strong communication skills both verbal and written. Experience in the construction sector is advantageous but not essential.

Salary & Benefits:

  • A starting salary of £24,000 – £27,000 (based on experience)
  • Annual bonus scheme

  • Annual addition of one day’s holiday after three years with the business (up to a maximum of 5 extra).


A full training programme will be in place when you join to ensure you get not only the appropriate systems and processes training but also an understanding of how other areas of the business contribute to making Linear Projects the success it is.
