Who we're looking for

We are seeking an experienced Graduate Mechanical Engineer to work in an ever-growing department of Hidrostal. As well as new build, a large part of our business is the maintenance, overhaul, repair and refurbishment of centrifugal pumps. We have contracts with major utility companies like Yorkshire Water.

At Hidrostal we strongly believe that our responsibilities do not end at the point of pump installation and we are committed to offering a complete support service for Hidrostal products and pumping installations.

As part of our on-going expansion we have an opportunity for a talented graduate engineer to join our team.

You will be specialised in mechanical & hydraulic calculation, and engineering tools programming and will hold a degree in a mechanical or another relevant engineering discipline. This is a unique opportunity to be exposed to all areas of the manufacturing process and understand our business. The role will provide a long-term opportunity to be instrumental to specialist product areas and their application in the water utility sector and beyond. This will include opportunities to work closely with product design and manufacturing, taking place in Hidrostal’s parent company in Switzerland.

To support our exciting expansion, we are looking for a high calibre graduate who possess the following attributes:

  • You will have achieved a minimum of 2:1 degree classification
  • Good A levels or equivalents, achieving grade C or above
  • You will have studied a Mechanical Engineering degree or another relevant engineering discipline
  • Driven and show a willingness to learn
  • Analytical and detailed
  • A team player
  • A problem solver
  • Be passionate about doing a good job

You will be expected to have understanding of:

  • Centrifugal pumping systems and terminology
  • Basic hydraulic principles of liquid flow
  • Basic principles of rotating machines (bearings, mechanical seals, materials selection)
