A day in the life - Zeeshan Ali

What does it mean to be a Lendlease graduate?

Our Day in the Life series finds out first-hand. This week, we caught up with: Zeeshan Ali, Assistant Engineering Manager at Chiswick Park Footbridge, London.

I'm currently responsible for…

Helping deliver a new pedestrian footbridge in Chiswick Park.

There is no typical day in the role I am in and no two days are ever the same. I have been given responsibility from the start of this project, where my role involves planning, organising, direction, controlling and overseeing the construction phase of the bridge to ensure the project maintains its elements of safety, quality, programme and budget.

My most memorable work moment was...

Reviewing RAMS and Lifting plans, where I was involved in the lifting for 4No. bridge legs and 1No. lift shaft. This was completed safely and on programme with the presence of Network Rail and London Underground. I had to ensure all works were carried out within Network Rail and London Underground requirements due to the works spanning over their assets.

I've learnt that the industry...

Is a rewarding, hands on and people orientated profession. It has a positive impact on the quality of people’s lives. It allows me to apply skills I have learnt in university and apply them to real world problems, in turn making a difference in the world.

After work...

I like to go to the gym or for a swim or spend my time on TripAdvisor finding places to visit in London because there is so much to do!

Lendlease is a place for me because...

There are a wide variety of projects currently at Lendlease. My seniors are always supportive to my career development and always want to get the best out of me. I have been given responsibility and accountability from the start of my career at Lendlease.
