The Role

  • The Development Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the Gas Turbine Engine receives adequate technical oversight and that all products meet business, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • The individual will act as the main point of contact within the project and for the customer, supporting the team with Systems Engineering, Validation and Verification (V&V) activities.
  • The role includes promoting and guiding the correct V&V behaviors throughout the project to ensure successful outcomes.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain verification strategies, structured verification plans, Product Development Plans, and standardisation reports in line with authority, customer, and internal requirements.
  • Define and extract technical requirements for testing, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning, ensuring alignment with Gas Turbine engine hardware validation.
  • Plan, manage, and compile substantiation evidence, clearance, and acceptance documentation to support project needs.
  • Ensure data from validation and verification activities informs the engineering programme schedule and mitigates technical risks.
  • Formulate and execute hardware strategy plans for engine development, managing experimental phases and addressing shortages or rework requirements.
  • Prepare and oversee engine Launch/Spec proformas, including defining instrumentation and ensuring alignment with test requirements prior to BOM creation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify instrumentation needs and ensure accurate experiment parameter measurement.
  • Guide experiments through review and approval processes and communicate experimental requirements based on Engine Development Program plans.
  • Serve as the liaison for the development engineering team during engine pre-launch, launch, specification meetings, and resolve hardware-related technical queries.
  • Compile, review, and manage test schedules, reports, and post-test hardware evaluations to support engine programme milestones and outcomes.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Degree level in Engineering or Equivalent relevant experience
  • Systems Engineering mindset
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesise complex information
  • Good communication skills, presentation and report writing.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Experience in relevant domain (Aerospace)
  • Evidence of delivery under pressure
  • Experience in managing relationships with external engineering companies.
