At Domino, we believe in doing more for our employees as well as our customers. A highly successful company, we’re large enough to offer career development opportunities yet small enough for your contribution to be readily recognised and rewarded.

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer in our Research & Development team, you’ll be working alongside skilled Mechanical, Electronics and Software Engineers, taking a hands on role supporting the validation and optimisation of new designs from concept through to delivery.

To start with, you’ll follow existing test plans, analysing the results in order to draw conclusions and make recommendations. You’ll also design and modify test plans and test equipment as needed and participate in test review sessions. As you build your skills and experience you’ll get the opportunity to become more involved with part and sub-system design, taking ownership throughout the entire product design lifecycle.

You’ll be mentored by one of our experienced Mechanical Engineers and we will make sure that you have the training and support you need for professional development and career progression.

You will have a strong academic background with a degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, and ideally some experience of working in an engineering environment, perhaps from an Industrial Placement year.

Key to this role is a keen interest in hands-on engineering – in your application, we’d love to hear about the things that you’ve done outside of work / your University course that show your enthusiasm for understanding how things work.

Life at Domino Printing Sciences

Team Spirit, Commitment and a Positive Attitude are central to our success. We aim to provide a supportive environment where you can develop your career.

We’ll also be looking for:

  • Some knowledge of fluid mechanics, structures/materials, system design or control theory
  • A good understanding of general physics
  • Basic electronics knowledge
  • Wide knowledge of engineering first principles
  • Analytical problem solving skills
  • Positive and proactive approach to work.

As well as a competitive salary, we offer a generous benefits package including 25 days' basic holiday, a discretionary bonus scheme, on-site subsidised restaurant, discounts on local gym facilities, as well as training and development opportunities to progress your career with Domino.

Join us and you’ll be part of an award-winning company that will invest in your development and your career.
