When I was searching for graduate jobs, Wood’s advert caught my attention the most given the company’s reputation in the energy services sector, and I knew that I would be well looked after here. I had some exposure to the industry already in my placement year at university, and I believed a career at Wood would allow me to expand my knowledge further and provide me with endless development opportunities.
The best thing for me about Wood is the people. Alongside my challenging day job, I love that I get to spend time and work with my fellow graduates through our Early Careers Network, which allows me to grow my network and acquire a range of insights from various parts of the business. I’m also very fortunate to be able to interact with Wood’s leadership team and learn valuable lessons from them that will help me progress through my career.
When faced with a difficult task, it can be easy to feel like you’re the only person who doesn’t know what they’re doing. However, it often turns out that your more experienced colleagues aren’t always sure either, and so I’ve learned that there really is no such thing as a silly question and it’s always important to raise your hand if you’re unsure.
