2027 Spring Insight Event - Operations - Technology Operations

1 week (April 2027)

Our Spring Insight Event is a week-long event taking place in our London and Edinburgh offices in April 2027 for students of all academic backgrounds who will graduate with an undergraduate or Master’s degree in 2029.

Spring Insight is an immersive experience into one of our business areas where you’ll participate in work shadowing, a group project, networking and social events. By the end of the week, you’ll be well on your way to being a true student of the markets. We think it’s important to have an open mind about where you begin your career so you’ll be able to apply to experience up to two functions.

BlackRock: About Us
Learn how we’re investing for the future.

Teams you may be considered for:

It is possible that you may be evaluated for opportunities with teams other than those listed below.

  • Data Operations - Responsible for processes required for the end-to-end investment management process, providing operational support to BlackRock’s portfolio management teams and client groups. The team owns the day-to-day relationships with external service providers, such as banks and data/index suppliers, ensuring that we optimise BlackRock’s relationships.
  • Platform Engineering - Drives the resiliency and stability of BlackRock’s technology platforms. The team comprises engineers, developers, DevOps experts, business analysts and more, all working to drive innovation in the industry.
  • Technology Operations - Supports technology businesses by working with cyber and information security, web tech engineering, innovation labs and technology enterprise services.

  • More than just a team: It’s easy to picture us as a community rather than just a department. When we’re not solving some of the most complicated challenges in FinTech, we’re coordinating hackathons, team charity days, tech meetups, running groups, table tennis, jigsaw puzzles or video game tournaments and much, much more!
  • Analysing trends to improve service and client deliverables
  • Understanding the flow of client, market and fund information across BlackRock and external data providers
  • Working alongside our systems engineers and UI developers to build the next generation of BlackRock’s tools
  • Proving out and productionalising scalable infrastructure
  • Developing tech solutions and providing tech expertise to address business and industry challenges
