This is a unique opportunity to become a member of our Electrical & Instrumentation Team. Developing skills in engineering, you will work alongside your business peers to support our team interfacing with our customers, our operational colleagues and the engineering functions you will quickly make your mark as an engineer of the future.
You’ll work directly with our colleagues in a supervisory support capacity whilst we provide gas to businesses, homes and industries. That way, you can grow your skills and knowledge to help us provide our customers with an even better service. There’s a real sense of purpose about a career with Cadent. Over the 24-month programme, you’ll develop leadership skills, gain technical exposure and understanding, and experience professional development, through a combination of theoretical learning and on the job experience. You’ll study towards achieving a HNC in Mechanical Engineering HNC in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation depending on the discipline.
You’ll be supported every step of the way by a dedicated programme manager, business mentor and line manager. Our community of trainees also provide the perfect support network, pulling from their personal experience they’ll provide guidance and assistance and you’ll inspire each other from the very start.
In the Eastern Electrical & Instrumentation Team, We are home to a set of highly skilled Network Technicians, Senior Network Technicians and Delivery Supervisors. A key focused deliverable is our annual maintenance program that covers our assets on our gas sites across the region and ultimately keeps our customers warm. This also includes the installation and repair of our electrical and Instrumentation equipment, From the lighting on our sites to the Instrumentation that provides our Local Gas Treatment Odorant.
We also play a key role in capital investment and where the money should be spent on improving our network. This can range from installing improved equipment or an environmental project such as solar panels, to initiating a full site rebuild.
We are a close knit team that strives for excellence in our work and safety. Best practices and knowledge are shared at Team briefs/Technical updates and the support of ongoing training. We are committed to developing the best team to surpass our goals and being ready for Hydrogen
The location of this role is Flexible within the Peterborough/Norwich/Hitchin area.
