  • Understanding client’s challenges and how WMG can support them. 
  • Identification of appropriate digital technologies and supporting the implementation. 
  • Running workshops to identify digital technology opportunities to support strategic growth and helping the client to develop compelling investment cases. 
  • Developing pilot programmes and offerings for digitalisation projects. 
  • Leading internal digital demonstrator and development projects, managing the activities of our junior team members. 
  • Developing roadmaps that describe how to enhance a client’s capability. 
  • Managing the successful delivery of client-facing and internal development activities, as part of a project, to achieve targets and high levels of client satisfaction. 
  • Using fresh thinking to identify new digital consulting opportunities and create new client and market offerings. 

Opportunity:

This role presents a unique range of career development opportunities: for people with business consultancy skills and experience to expand their technical knowledge and gain experience working with cutting-edge Industry 4.0 digital technologies.

Similarly, people with a technical bias will have the opportunity to develop business consulting skills and gather valuable manufacturing business management exposure through supporting and mentoring business owners and company directors.

Such business and technology exposure may appeal to people who have an entrepreneurial flair and are interested in broadening their horizons, working with a wider variety of SME manufacturers working across different sectors from food to engineering, and exploring opportunities with a view to starting their own business at some point in the future.

We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.  

About You

You will be familiar with, and preferably experienced in, consultancy methods and approaches, learned through either working for a consulting organisation or via project implementation within industry. You will have a passion for development, coaching others and improving performance.

The role provides SMEs with access to specialist Digital Transformation support plus, we would expect you to be familiar with, or open to learning about a wide range of digital technologies and opportunities for developing innovative products and processes for all types of manufacturer across the SME sector.

The ideal candidate should have a good working knowledge of one or more the following: 

  • Automation Systems & Robotics. 
  • IT and OT system architectures. 
  • Different types of manufacturing systems (ideally ERP, MRP, SFDC, MES and PLM). 
  • Cloud and Data Analytics.

About the Department 

WMG is the largest department at the University of Warwick with over 800 staff, world renowned for providing innovative solutions to industry through its research, development and education programmes.
