London Gatwick officially opened as a commercial airport in 1958. It's the UK’s second largest airport and is a vital piece of national infrastructure that helps drive both the regional and national economy. We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2024 over 43 million passengers travelled through our airport, with access to over 160 short-haul and 54 long-haul destinations, served by 59 airlines.

At the same time we aim to be the UK’s most accessible airport, prioritising the needs of every passenger and giving everyone an equal opportunity to fly.  ManagementWe're majority owned by VINCI Airports, who have a 50.01% majority share of our airport. The remainder is owned by a group of investors and are managed by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), who took ownership in 2009. |
