Why did you choose to apply for a Thames Water apprenticeship?

I chose to apply for a Thames Water Quantity Surveying apprenticeship because it offers an ideal combination of career growth, hands-on work experience, and professional development. One of the main reasons I was drawn to this apprenticeship is the opportunity to gain real-world experience while earning industry-recognised qualifications.

Learning directly from experienced professionals enables me to develop a strong foundation in quantity surveying, which will support my long-term career progression. Also, this apprenticeship allows me to challenge myself, build confidence, and develop essential skills such as problem-solving, communication, and financial management.

Can you tell me about your life and career journey?

During primary and secondary school, mathematics and problem solving had always been a strong point for me, which encouraged me to pursue this within my GCSE’s. I started my career catering, working for a mobile catering company for 2.5 years, which meant I had little experience when applying for TW.

My journey into quantity surveying started during my A-Levels, where I developed a strong interest in mathematics, problem-solving, and the built environment, with A levels in Business and Geography supporting this.
