Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the Centre of Excellence team, you would be providing a sound knowledge base and Technical Metrology support to improve customer service and improve profitability. Focusing on delivering growth in Service by promoting and supporting Taylor Hobson products and software and providing technical support and Measurement solutions.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide Global Metrology support by means of Instrument and Metrology Training courses, Customer Demonstrations, Contract Measurements, Measurement Reports, Exhibition Support, and R&R studies. - To develop strong working relationships with customers and internal personnel regarding metrology support and measurement solutions.
  • Liaise with customers regarding contract measurement requests and requirements, to optimize growth in this area.
  • -Able to deliver instrument training to internal staff and external customers on our core products and software.
  • Champion the non-contact product range within the department including Luphoscan and Talyscan
  • Support the Taylor Hobson Calibration Laboratory.

Required Essential Skills

  • Must have a in depth knowledge of metrology covering Surface Finish, Roundness and Surface Topography.
  • Able to operate a wide range of Taylor Hobson measuring equipment and have an in-depth knowledge of Taylor Hobson’s product range including the Talyrond and Form Talysurf.
  • Must be able to present and communicate clearly and concisely both in written and verbal form to all levels of management in both external and internal situations.
  • Demonstrate tenacity and drive to deliver objectives
  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable during times of change
  • Personal performance to be nothing short of the best
  • Practical use of Microsoft products including Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and able to create technical reports and presentations.

  • Able to build strong collaborative working relations with colleagues, managers, and customers

Desirable

  • Needs to be able to interpret technical drawings and translate into measurement solutions by identifying correct instrumentation and software for the application.
  • Proficient with current and previous Taylor Hobson Instruments and software, particularly for both Talysurf and Roundness Product ranges.
  • In depth knowledge of Taylor Hobson current and past products and services
