We are currently seeking a Graduate Software Engineer based at our Portishead site to support the company’s product development.

Your primary responsibilities in this role would be:

  • Work as part of a small team delivering new cloud-based applications in addition to maintaining and upgrading existing products.
  • Play an active part in delivering solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of new applications and enhancements to existing code.

Perhaps more unusually for a typical ‘Graduate role’ the position comes with a high level of responsibility and making a notable difference right from the outset. Be under no illusions, if you aspire to develop your skills to be a person that the business looks to, to be instrumental in driving a business forward, then this is the job for you.

Who we are looking for:

The successful candidate will know object-oriented programming, with core competency in a language like Java or C#. You will be able to promote excellence in engineering standards, utilising methodologies such as test-driven development. You will be knowledgeable in RESTful APIs; knowing your POST from your PUT. You will know frontend JavaScript frameworks and backend cloud-hosted development. Pushing your coursework to GitHub will be second nature. You use Kanban or Scrum when tackling group tasks.

Must have achieved a minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or an equivalent/relevant degree. An accredited master’s degree would be preferable but not essential.

What we offer you:

In return we can offer career progression, flexible working hours, 26 days' holiday plus bank holidays, private medical healthcare scheme, life assurance, contributory pension scheme and profit related bonus.
