The Aberdeen Chemical Engineering Society was established to create a closer link for Chemical Engineering students with the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). This offers students an insight into the broader applications of Chemical Engineering and allows them to become part of a larger professional community with regular career events and technical seminars, and presently a number of webinars.
As well as this, the society offers a smaller community, within the university, for peers to meet up and support one another, with a diverse mix of individuals from different stages in their degree and keeping an active social media to engage our members. The society typically hosts a number of events throughout the year, ranging from pub crawls to bowling, annually attending the well renowned Frank Morton sports day, embracing some friendly rivalry in a range of sports, and this year getting creative with our online events! We know how to make the best of our down time!

During Lockdown, we arranged an online quiz and games night which was so much fun!
Along with the enjoyable games, quizzes and laughter, it was a great way for fellow Chemical Engineering students to introduce themselves and get to know one another and the committee, through interacting in different games rounds both individually and in teams in the new virtual setting.
