Aberdeen Women in Science and Engineering Society (AUWISE)

Aberdeen University Women in Science and Engineering (AUWISE) was set up to encourage the next generation of talented female students undertaking STEM subjects at university. We aim to equip students at Aberdeen University with the skills they need to develop successful careers by organising networking sessions and career-focused events.

We specifically want to highlight our event series called ‘A Day in a Life of a …’ where we invite speakers to talk about their profession. Thereby, students get an insight into the daily life of a particular job and gain an understanding of diverse career paths that led professionals to their current occupation.

There are lots of opportunities for members to meet and interact with other students studying similar degrees and network with a range of different industries. Through our social events, we want to expand our focus from professional networking and career insight to building a community for students that will strengthen and empower them throughout their career.
