Cambridge Women in Engineering Society (CUWES)

We are Cambridge University Women in Engineering Society (CUWES). Our aim is to promote women and non-binary people in the engineering industry and support aspiring engineers on their way towards a successful career.

We champion inclusiveness and focus on helping future engineers thrive in the industry through training and networking events. In the three years since our foundation, CUWES has created an environment where students can support each other and learn from other women engineers, allowing our members to grow personally and professionally.

The facts
Our society is open to all! Undergraduates, postgraduates, research fellows, lecturers, and anyone else who is interested.
Every year, we hold a Women in Engineering panel, with representatives from our sponsor companies! It’s one of our biggest events and is always popular!
We have recently added an Outreach officer to our committee. This is to contribute towards our goal to inspire prospective students, especially female and non-binary students, to choose engineering degrees.
To remain as inclusive as possible, membership is free of charge for all students!
