STACS is the University of St Andrews' computing society. We run both large-scale and small events, the biggest of which is our 24 hour hackathon that takes place every March, known as STACSHack! STACSHack has a new fun theme every year, and you can see past themes by looking at our events page.
We also run smaller, educational events such as our Teach Me X series, which has industry speakers sharing their knowledge. Alongside our hackathons and educational events, we also run social events throughout the year, including a popular pub quiz at the start of the academic year for everyone to get to know each other!
Some of the projects students built during our 2023 STACSHack hackathon can be found here.
Our yearly events include themed hackathons - a shorter one in October (8-12 hours) and a longer 24 hour hackathon in March called STACSHack. With prize money, free food and merchandise on the line, these are very popular events!
