KCL Womxn in Engineering Society

Founded in 2023, the Womxn in Engineering Society brings together womxn-identifying students at King’s College London who share an interest in engineering. We aim to create an inclusive community where members can connect with peers and professionals, develop valuable skills, and grow both personally and professionally.

Guided by values of perseverance and open-mindedness, we offer tailored opportunities such as technical workshops, outreach programmes, and networking with industry experts. We also host wellbeing and community-building socials - from seasonal events to group activities - to help members form meaningful friendships and support networks.

Looking ahead, we’re expanding our initiatives with exclusive company visits, inspirational guest speakers, and hands-on workshops hosted by leaders in their fields. Most importantly, we remain committed to empowering womxn to thrive in engineering and beyond.

The facts
In 2025, HRH Princess Anne officially opened King's Engineering Department, where she spoke to WiE representatives about the work we do.
Our flagship event is an annual collaboration with 3 other KCL societies, where 7 large companies come to King's to talk about entering the engineering industry.
The KCL Department of Engineering has been awarded one of the UK's most prestigious higher education awards for their outstanding contribution to excellent teaching.
Our membership is free! We believe in removing all barriers to opportunities for womxn-identifying students to thrive.
