Founded in 2023, the Womxn in Engineering Society brings together womxn-identifying students at King’s College London who share an interest in engineering. We aim to create an inclusive community where members can connect with peers and professionals, develop valuable skills, and grow both personally and professionally.
Guided by values of perseverance and open-mindedness, we offer tailored opportunities such as technical workshops, outreach programmes, and networking with industry experts. We also host wellbeing and community-building socials - from seasonal events to group activities - to help members form meaningful friendships and support networks.
Looking ahead, we’re expanding our initiatives with exclusive company visits, inspirational guest speakers, and hands-on workshops hosted by leaders in their fields. Most importantly, we remain committed to empowering womxn to thrive in engineering and beyond.
Partnered with Imperial College London and Apple engineers for an exclusive session where members gained insider advice on applications and careers in tech.
Delivered hands-on sessions to strengthen members’ practical engineering skills and confidence with hardware.
Ran an interactive session for King’s Scholars from local schools, helping widen participation in STEM and inspire the next generation of engineers.
Celebrating moments that brought our community together and built connections:
Collaborated with three other KCL societies to welcome seven top companies (including JPMorgan, Siemens, Thales, and Ansys) to share insights on entering the engineering industry.
From pumpkin carving and ice skating at Somerset House to countryside hikes and Mafia game nights, we host events that help members connect beyond academics.
Engaged with schools and local communities to share engineering opportunities, while creating meaningful connections within and outside King’s.
And this is just the beginning, we’re continuously growing our opportunities and impact each year.
