Legacy 2012 Transformation

Following our work providing much of the infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Atkins is working with the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) to oversee the technical transformation of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from Games venue into an exciting new visitor destination and community park.

Transforming offshore wind with DONG Energy

Atkins has been a partner to DONG Energy since 2013, helping to transform the offshore wind industry through standardisation of design and cost reduction. DONG Energy is progressing to a standardised wind farm, reducing the costs of offshore wind energy by 35 - 40 percent for projects getting the go-ahead in 2020.

Dubai Opera House

Set to become one of the most significant, vibrant and successful performing arts and entertainment centres in the Middle East, Dubai Opera is a 2,000-seat (approximate), multi-format theatre which will captivate visitors.

Heathrow Airport Asset Replacement

As a result of Heathrow’s current regulatory cycle being extended to 2019, SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business has been awarded a contract extension, which will run for at least one year, to continue working with the airport to reduce operational risks, improve resilience and reduce energy consumption across the airport’s estate.

Cardiff Area Signalling Renewal (CASR)

Atkins delivered the Signalling and Power and Distribution contracts for the CASR. A technically challenging project, CASR was one of the first major signalling schemes in the UK to use latest innovations such as plug couplers and Frauscher train detection technology to help save time and money.

Doha Metro Gold Line

Our work on the Doha Metro is helping Qatar improve transportation and infrastructure across the city. The programme is critical for the 2022 World Cup and is central in delivering Qatar’s 2030 vision.

Crossrail Farringdon Station

Atkins has led the detailed design for the station using the highest quality architectural finishes. Glass fibre reinforced concrete cladding panels have been incorporated into platform areas creating a style and character unique to the new central section stations.
