The GDP is a two-year framework, designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to progress your early career and work towards a professional qualification. The programme features a series of signature events, core training modules, professional development, mentoring and on-the-job experience.
The purpose of the Graduate Forum is to unite the UK Graduate Community across our 5 businesses, ensuring every voice is heard and has the power to influence. Representatives from each business reach out to their respective communities, listening to the needs and desires of each graduate. The forum turns graduates’ ideas into reality and brings about not only positive change within the GDP but also across AtkinsRéalis.
We also have various Early Careers networks and communities for Apprentices and for early careers colleagues from across our organization.
Good times and socials are an essential part of the life for our early careers colleagues. These include everything from pub crawls and meals out, to karting, bouldering or ice skating. Our grads and apprentices also enjoy annual trips abroad, they’ve gone surfing in Spain, skiing in France and visited the Edinburgh Fringe Festival!
There are various events to reflect on your performance and network with your fellow peers, including workshops with graduates and apprentices from across the country.
During your time on our graduate programme you may get the opportunity to complete a secondment or placement in a different part of AtkinsRéalis. If you work in transportation or infrastructure this could be across to Bangalore in India as well as various secondments across the UK with other business areas. From learning new skills, to forging new relationships, to discovering a vibrant culture – secondments are just some of the experiences that await you.
We solve some of the most complex engineering problems that the world faces today – applying innovative thinking, pioneering technologies and outstanding projects to create the best outcome for clients and society, every single time. And this is all made possible by the people that make up our business.
From designing Heathrow’s sustainable expansion, to transforming offshore wind and nuclear, our community of diverse thought and different perspectives come together to make incredible things happen.
It’s a community that shares the belief that everyone’s voice is valuable and should be treated equally. A community that understands that everyone deserves to feel like they belong – no exceptions.
Here you’ll join a place where our teams have created a strong working and learning environment.
We want to be a truly inclusive employer and that means continuing to improve for the benefit of everyone. We value the diversity of people because we believe it’s the right thing to do.
Some of our strong staff-generated networks include: Equilibrium, a place for our employees to discuss LGBTQ+ issues; Empower, the Women’s Professional Network; Enable our community for sharing ideas, information and news relevant to those affected by disability; and Embrace our network providing a community and safe space for ethnic minority colleagues and allies within AtkinsRéalis. We have also signed the Time to Change pledge as a commitment to change perceptions and have positive conversations around mental health.
As an employer of choice, we recognise that you exist outside of the office and that everyone has different interests and commitments. When you can excel in your personal life, you’ll bring that drive and passion to work. That’s why flexible working is a vital part of our collective success. You’ll be trusted to achieve your best at work, while structuring your time around what matters to you.
Whether it’s inspiring the next generation of engineers or getting involved with local communities, we know we’re in a position to help create a better future. That’s why everyone at AtkinsRéalis has the opportunity to take part in 2 days of voluntary, charity or STEM-related work each year.
