Purpose & Scope of the Role

Looking to start your career in a role where geospatial data, technical problem-solving and real project delivery come together? Join Tetra Tech and help shape how information is mapped, analysed and used across major sectors.

Tetra Tech is a leading technical, engineering and environmental consultancy delivering data-driven solutions across water, environment, infrastructure, energy and international development. Our Geospatial team within the Management & Surveying Business Unit works across single and multi-disciplinary projects for clients in sectors including water, defence and nuclear.

This graduate role offers varied work across different project locations, technical requirements and sectors, with support from a collaborative team in a global organisation with a strong local presence.

Your Impact in this position

You’ll help turn complex data into clear, usable information for non-GIS users and support project delivery through mapping, analysis and reporting. From maintaining datasets to improving the way we use GIS technology, your work will help raise quality, efficiency and project outcomes.

Five Core Capabilities

  • Mapping Support – Respond to mapping requests across the business and produce clear, accurate outputs.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting – Source, prepare and analyse data to create graphics, metrics and reports.
  • Digital Tools & Applications – Use Survey123, Dashboards and Insights to build internal applications that support client delivery.
  • Dataset Management – Capture, update and maintain datasets for internal and external use.
  • Project Support & Collaboration – Assist on data-heavy projects and support the wider GIS team as needed.
  • GIS Improvement – Help develop our use of GIS technology, including new tools and approaches to improve quality and efficiency.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

You’ll need a minimum 2:1 BSc in GIS, environmental sciences or geographical sciences, plus knowledge of GIS software or equivalent experience. Experience with the ESRI stack, especially ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, Field Maps and AGOL, is highly desirable, alongside strong communication, presentation, organisation and time management skills. Knowledge of UK environmental and Ordnance Survey datasets is also required. Security clearance suitability is essential.

Working Environment

Based in Manchester or Southampton, with hybrid working supported in line with team and project needs. As a graduate role, you can expect to spend more time in the office initially to support learning, collaboration and development, with flexibility available as you grow in the role.

In alignment with the Equality Act 2010, we will make reasonable adjustments to support candidates and employees requiring additional arrangements. This could include adaptations to work schedules, training approaches, or the physical workspace. Please inform us if you need any accommodations during the recruitment process or in your day-to-day role.
