In 2019, Olivia Holmes, a Human Geography graduate, joined Halo Service Solutions on the graduate programme. Two years later, she is now one of Halo’s most valuable employees, working as a Sales Manager at the Halo Headquarters in Stowmarket, England.
“Completing the Halo Graduate Scheme was a really great way to kick off my career. Having graduated with a 1st in Human Geography I knew I had a lot of transferable skills and interest in a wide variety of sectors, but I was unsure of which direction I wanted to take my career. Joining Halo allowed me to try out different roles in Support, Customer Success, Sales, Business Development and Consultancy, meaning I was really well informed when choosing to pursue a career in Sales.
Each rotation lasted around a month, moving department to department, allowing me to build on my knowledge of the company and the industry each day. I found I really benefitted from Halo’s working culture, with everyone I worked with being keen to help me out and ensure I had a real learning experience throughout the 6-month duration. I gained a pretty deep insight into how things are done at Halo and I was surprised at how quickly I was trusted to make an impact on business direction and processes from day one!
One of the best things about the programme is how interdependent each department is. I originally moved towards a role in Consultancy, helping new customers deploy our software and configure it to their unique business processes. I loved this role as it allowed me to travel up and down the country, however, once starting the Sales rotation I found my real talent lies in providing consultancy services pre-sales. Halo is arguably wholly unique in how much room you are given to progress and how much you are pushed to succeed and try new things. I never anticipated I would be in a position I enjoyed this much, with this much responsibility, three years post university!”
