Research & Innovation - Intern

We are looking for a motivated university student to join our Research & Innovation (RI) team as a Placement Intern for a year. This internship is a great opportunity for a student who is interested in programming, process improvement, digital tools, and data analysis.

As part of the R&I team, you will support the development and improvement of tools and workflows that help make our research processes more efficient, structured, and accessible. You will work on practical tasks that may include scripting, organising digital information-sharing platforms, and supporting market analysis activities.

Key Responsibilities

During the internship, you will support a range of activities, including:

  • Developing and improving new and existing tools using Python or other suitable programming languages
  • Learning and understanding internal processes and workflows to help improve how information is structured and shared online
  • Supporting the implementation and organisation of online collaboration and document-sharing platforms, such as SharePoint or similar systems
  • Assisting in the development and continuous improvement of the newly launched Research Process
  • Conducting data analysis and developing scripts or tools to improve the speed and efficiency of market analysis
  • Collaborating with team members across R&D to identify opportunities for process and tool improvements
  • Documenting solutions, structures, and recommendations to support long-term use and development

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is curious, structured, and eager to learn. You should enjoy solving problems, working with data, and finding practical ways to improve how work is done.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently studying at university, preferably in engineering, computer science, data science, information systems, or a related field
  • At least 18 years old and early in your university studies
  • Basic to intermediate programming skills, in Python or other languages
  • Interest in digital tools, automation, process improvement, and data analysis
  • Ability to understand and structure information in a clear and logical way
  • Interest in collaboration platforms such as SharePoint, Microsoft 365, or similar tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently while also collaborating with others
