Look forward to the future, Dive into the world of data
If anybody has to be able predict the future, it’s us. Airlines are complex, fast-moving, data rich businesses – and British Airways gives data science graduates a fascinating mix of in-air and on-the-ground challenges to puzzle over. From day one, your work will help us make real-life, multimillion pound decisions. Working in an agile scrum team like ours means we set our own tasks, but while you’re learning you’ll have an experienced mentor on your side.
We aim to turn you into an all-round data expert. You rotate across three different roles: analytics, visualisation and engineering. Later, you can decide whether you want to specialise in a certain area. Mastering the art of analytics means extracting answers we never knew we needed – recommending advantageous new business models and technologies, weighing up their costs against the rewards.
To bring this to life in ways our decision makers can understand, we’ll train you in a series of advanced visualisation techniques. Using both historic data and predictive analytics, you’ll create dashboards and reports, making trends in the performance data crystal clear to your audience. And when it comes to data engineering experiences, you’ll jump from coding to testing to governance and security projects.
To do this role, you’ll need an A or B grade in Maths at A-level and be on track to a achieve a minimum 2:2 in a Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Applied Statistics or Computer Science related degree. If you enjoy investigating the ambiguous and de-coding complex riddles into solid answers, we’re very interested in hearing from you. We can take those personal attributes and turn them into clear career path. Your personal mentor will not only help you become a professional who forms close working relationships with even the most senior people – they’ll set you up to become one yourself.
