Your opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to train for a career in Accountancy. You’ll join our friendly, expert finance team to gain both breadth and depth of practical experience, whilst completing a Level 7 (MSc equivalent) Apprenticeship leading to ACCA qualification and chartered accountant status.
You’ll be part of key projects and value-adding work from day one, supporting offshore wind farms across the UK. Learning from enthusiastic and highly skilled individuals, we’ll provide plenty of scope to grow and develop your career whilst supporting you through your qualification.
As you develop your knowledge and expertise, you will:
Support our finance managers in all aspects of providing a first class business partnering service to our offshore wind farms, senior stakeholders and managers, gaining a deep commercial understanding of our business
Assist with the production, interpretation and delivery of complex reports and advice
Prepare basic reconciliations, advancing to more complex account reconciliations over time
Assist with raising of invoices and accurately recharging costs
Working as part of the team, support on month and quarter end routine work, including the preparation of management accounts
Collate information required for regulatory reporting such as the Office for National Statistics
Assist with external audit deliverables
Build positive relationships and develop the ability to communicate and work across different business cultures, in a truly international sector
About you
By September 2024 you will have completed your degree in any academic discipline – if you’ve studied for a degree requiring a high level of numeracy and analytical skill, or a business related subject, that’s an added bonus.
Alternatively, you may have already completed a Level 3 or 4 AAT qualification alongside gaining some experience and are seeking a new opportunity and chance to progress your career further
You can clearly demonstrate an ability to balance work and academic study over a 3 year period, taking a highly organised and focused approach to your development journey
You definitely enjoy operating as part of a team and feel at your best when collaborating with and supporting others
With a high degree of self-reliance, you’ll demonstrate curiosity, commercial awareness and an openness towards continuous improvement
You’re numerate, motivated by deadlines and enjoy getting into the detail. You’ll feel comfortable getting to grips with a range of software packages, and sound excel skills are important too.
It is evident that you possess a firm commitment and enthusiasm to begin your journey in the field of accountancy, with an additional keen interest in renewable energy
You’re a confident communicator with good spoken and written business English skills
